WoW: New feral equipment upgrades in Patch 2.3
Lots of news coming from the Blizzard developers about feral upgrades in Patch 2.3. First:
For items that grant attack power in Cat, Bear, Dire Bear, and Moonkin forms, in general we are planning to increase the amount of attack power they give. (source)
What else is there to say, but yay! This is great news for cat and bear druids. It’s not so earth shattering for Moonkins, but many of our Balance brethren enjoying adding melee damage to their spell damage and some like to tank (!!).
Second:
We are currently planning to make a Feral-focused set available in season 3. The idea is to make this set have no plus to healing on it and be focused on Feral statistics. Things could still change though. (source)
Sounds like a tanking set to me. I suppose cat druids just take the rogue sets. I don’t PvP, so I don’t know. But I do know feral specs are not well represented in arena teams. Lack of tanking leather may have something to do with that.
Third:
There are a few new pvp oriented trinkets for 2.3.
All versions of the trinket have a click effect to gain 1750 max health (kind of like the old lifegiving gem effect), along with a passive effect (your choice of 47 spell damage, 40 spell crit rating, 80 attack power, 40 melee crit rating, or 88 healing). (source)
Again, excellent news for the underrepresented feral druid in PvP. For more information, check out the short article I wrote up on the trinkets here.
There are other long needed improvements coming to druids in Patch 2.3. They are all Restoration and Balance oriented, but even us ferals pop out of animal form occasionally.
